of Dorchester County state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of
Twelve hundred twenty Eight dollars and sixteen cents to me in hand paid by
Richard Stevens of the County and state aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery
of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Elijah B Stevens do hereby
acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do hereby
grant bargain and sell unto the said Richard Stevens his executors administrators
and assigns the following property to wit one negro Named Harry Camper
one negro named March Ross one negro named Ann all slaves for life also one
negro Boy named Joe also slave for life also one Boy Henry one Boy Leven each
to serve till they are twenty one years old also Two horses one colt thirteen head
sheep Twenty seven head cattle twenty barrels corn  Three thousand pound
Blades two stacks Tops one fan one Grindstone one Flax brake one straw stack
one lot ploughs and Harrow two Carts sixteen head Hogs one Gig and Harness
one lot Hoes also one other negro man named John other Camper a slave
for life also eighty cords wood in the words all which property is now on the
premises occupied by the said Elijah B. Stevens all of which I hereby deliver
to the said Richard Stevens  To have and to hold the said negroes and other
property above bargained and sold or intended so to be to the Said Richard
Stevens his executors administrators and assigns forever  And I the Said
Elijah B Stevens for my self my heirs executors and administrators the
said Property sock grain fodder and other the premises to gather the
said Harry Camper March Ross Johnothan Camper And and Joe
negroes as Slaves and the said Negro Boys Henry and Levin as held for the
above term of years unto the said Richard Stevens his executors administrators
and assigns against me the said Elijah B. Stevens my executors and
administrators and against and against all and Every other person or
persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these
presents.  I Witness whereof I the said Elijah B Stevens have hereunto
set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty seventh day of March
in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty three

Eight hundred and forty ^three^ personally appears Elijah B. Stevens before
me the subscriber a justice of the peace in and for the County and state I
Knowing him to be the identical individual therein named and acknowledges
the within Bill of sale or instrument of writing to be his act and
deed and the negroes and other property therein named and thereby
bargained and sold to be the property and estate of the within named
Richard Stevens parties granted his heirs and assigns according to the
