75 5 ploughs 3 harrows one Lot potatoes one Lot of Turnips 1 cabbage 1500 lbs pork one ox cart yoke & bous one horse cart & harness 40 bushels oats 5000 lbs blades one lot Top fodder & corn caps 50 lbs lard 4 beds bedsteads & furniture one dozen chairs one bureau one mahogany Table one piece Table one Clock & Looking Glasses one wheat fan one Loom and geer the unexpired time of a negro boy for the balance of the year 1843 all the balance of my house hold & Kitchen furniture all my turkeys geese & chickens all of which property is now in my possession. To have and to hold the same described property above bargained and sold to the said Henry Phillips and Reubin E Phillips their executors administrators and assigns forever to their only proper use and benifit and I the said Wesley Phillips for myself my executors and administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents to the said Henry Phillips & Reubin E Phillips their Executors administrators and assigns the said described property against me my executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the 17th day of February 1843 his Signed sealed and delivered Wesly + Phillips (seal) in presence of mark John G Abbott State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit On this 17th day of February 1843 before me one of the justices of the peace in and for said County appears Wesley Phillips and acknowledges the foregoing writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided John P Abbott Levin Griffin Be it remembered that the following Bill of sale was recorded Ex.d from on the 25 Feby 1843 to wit Know all men by John Roberson these presents that whereas I John Roberson of Dorchester County stand indebted unto Levin Griffin of Talbot County for the amount of a Judgement rendered in Dorchester County Court at april Term 1842 said Judgement being rendered for the sum of six hundred and seven dollars & fifty cents & costs Twenty Eight dollars and ninety cents with interest from the date of this Judgement and which s.d Judgement was rendered against me as administrators of Mathias Travers & whereas in my settlement of said Traverse's estate I retained a sufficiency of afcts to meet the said claim of Levin Griffin & consider myself personally responsible for the payment of sd Judgement upon which there is now a credit of Forty dollars to be entered as of this date and whereas for the purpose of more effectually securing the payment of the sd Judgement as collateral security thereon & for & in consideration of the premises & the sum of one dollar to me |
