68 1843 appeared before me the subscriber a justice of the peace for said state & county Henry Shenton and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and Deed for the purposes then mentioned Charles Corkran Richard Linthicum Be it remembered that the following bill of sale from was recorded on the 4th February 1843 to wit Jesse Richardson Known all men by these presents that I Jesse Richardson of Dorchester county in the state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars lawfull money of the united states of america to me in hand paid by Richardson Linthicum sen of the county and state aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Jesse Richardson do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Richard Linthicum sen his executors administrators and assigns fifteen acres of land The above was written supposing the instrument to have been a Bill of sale as it was so endorsed, but which was in fact a Mortgage for real Estate and is recorded among the Land records Wm Harrison Be it remembered that the following bill of sale was Ex.d from recorded on the 4 Feby 1843 to wit Know all men John Clifton by thes presents that I John Clifton of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred dollars currant money to me in hand paid by William E Harrison of the county and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and unto the said William E Harrison his executors administrators and assigns one Gray horse one yoke of oxen one red cow, one pied, yearling ten hed of sheep 6 white shoats one ox cart one Gig & harness one plough and two harrows one spade and one shovel then three weeding hoes two Gubing hoes 2 cutting axes four beds and bedsteads and furniture one side board one mantle brass Clock two walnut tables 1 doz chairs 1 cupboard and contents 1 pair of brass andiron one ditto Iron 1 pair of brass candlesticks 1 pair of glass candlestick one shot gum one waiter stand one candle stand one safe 1 pair of shovel and tongs 1 looking Glass two spining wheels one blue chest one trunk 1 coffee mill one wevers loom 1 Kitchen table two Iron pots two ovens one spider 1 tea Kettle 3 cyprus tools 1 stone churn four stone Jars twelve hundred lbs of salted pork 100 lbs of said forty barrels of corn thirty bushels of wheat All which property is now in my possession To have and to hold the same Dekd Hacib 17 Novr 1843 by JH |
