57 Richard Phillips of Levin Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was Ex.d from recorded on 26 Jany anno domini 1843 to wit William Whiteley Know all men by these presents that I William Whitely of Dorchester County and state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Richard Phillips of Levin of the same County and state aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Richard Phillips his heirs and assigns forever one Lot of Tops and Blades one yoke of oxen one Cow one set net two yearlings one Cart one sow and seven pigs three head of sheep four axes one Gun one Scythe two barrels of corm more or less two hundred and fifty pounds of Pork twelve head of chickens four Ducks twenty pounds of Land one small canoe one Linen wheel two hoes one shovel twelve empty barrels and all my house and kitchen furniture To Have and to hold the above described property unto the said Richard Phillips his heirs executors and administrators to the only proper use and behoof of the said Richard Phillips his heirs and assigns forever and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever In testimony whereof i have hereunto set my hand & seal this 26th day of January 1843 Signed sealed and delivered in presence of William Whitley (seal) Charles Corkran Maryland Dorchester County To wit On the 26th day of January 1843 the above named William Whiteley appeared before me the subscribed one of the Justices of the peace in and for the County and State aforesaid and acknowledged the above bill of sale to be his act and deed and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein mentioned according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided before Charles Corkran Delivered to R Phillips Oct 23 1843 Jeremiah Thomas Travers Be it remembered that the following & Solomon F Kirwan Mortgage was recorded on 26 Jany Ex.d from anno domini 1843 to wit Phillip H Graham United States of America State of Maryland to wit "Know all men by these presents that Whereas Philip H Graham of Dorchester county state of Maryland is owner of the Schooner or vessel called the Heroine of oxford of the burthen of 57 85/95 tons or thereabouts & is indebted to Jeremiah Thomas Travers & Solomon F Kirwan both of Baltimore & copartners trading this under Deld Sol F Kirwan 21 Oct 1844 |
