55 Thomas H Eccleston Be it remembered that the following bill of sale Ex.d from was recorded on 26th Jany anno domini 1843 to wit Wesley Phillips Know all men by these presents that I Wesley Phillips of Dorchester county in Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars current money to me in hand paid by Thomas J H Eccleston of the county and state afs.d at and before the sealing and delivering hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge Hath granted bargained and sold & by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the sd Thomas J H Eccleston his heirs & assigns all the following manual property viz one Gig & harness one wheat fan one horse cart and harness one horse three mares & two colts one yoke of oxen and ox cart sixteen head of cattle old and young nineteen heads of sheep forty head of hogs sows stoats & pigs thirty two bushels of wheat seeded on the said Eccleston White Hole farm fifty barrels of corn forty bushels of oats fifteen hundred weight of pork five thousand weight of blades all my house and Kitchen furniture all my farming implements of every sort and kind all the coarse fodder and provender on the sd farm and one man servant hired for the current year of the sd Eccleston all which property is now in my possession To have & to hold the same discribed property above bargained & sold to the sd Thomas JH Eccleston & to his heirs and assigns forever and for his and their only proper use and benifit And I the sd Wesley Phillips for myself my heirs & assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents to the sd Eccleston his heirs and assigns all the sd property above described against me my heirs and assigns & against every present claiming the same or any part or portion thereof In testimony whereof i have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this 5th day of January 1843 Signed sealed and his delivered in presence of Wesley + Phillips (seal) Richard Pattison mark Mary Pattison William Pattison Maryland Dorchester County to wit On this 25th day of January 1843 before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for sd County appears Wesley Phillips and acknowledged the within or foregoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided Before me Richard Pattison |
