current money with interest for the same on or before the 11 Day
of January next ensuing  Then this bill of sale and every matter
and thing therein expressed shall be void and of none effect
it being the true intent and meaning thereof that the said
Sam & Terry is mortgaged by me the said Levin McQuay to
secure to the said Silvester Dail the payment of the money
aforesaid in witness whereof I the said Levin McQuay have
hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 11 day of
January 1843                               his

1843 before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for said county
appears Levin McQuay and acknowledges the foregoing writing
to be his act and deed according to the true intent and
meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case
made and provided

William Allen                 Be it remembered that the following bill
       from   (*)                of sale was recorded on the 23d Jany anno
Joseph M Coulbourne   domini 1843 to wit
Know all men by these presents that I Joseph M Coulbourne
of Dorchester county and state of Maryland for and in consideration
of the sum of two hundred current money to me in hand
paid by William Allen of the county and state aforesaid at
and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt
whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained
and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and
sell unto the said William ^Allen^ his Executors administrators
and assigns two head of horses one milck cow two heifers
one  hog one sow and pigs One waggon two beds and furniture
One table six stool chairs five flag chairs five chests
One cupboard and contents one loom ten barrels of corn
and three stacks of fodder all which property is now in
my possession  To have and to hold the same described
property above bargained and sold to the said William
Allen his executors administrators and assigns forever
to his and their proper use and benifit and I the said
Joseph M Colbourne for my self my executors and administrators
shall and will warrant and forever defend
by these presents to the said William Allen his Executors
