42 arising from the premises above recited or in any way whatever In witness whereof I have hereto affixed my hand and seal the day and year first above written attest Charles Corkrand Levin H Campbell (seal) Dorchester county to wit On this seventeenth day of January personally appears before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of Dorchester county levin H Campbell party to the within instrument and acknowledge the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein named Charles Corkran J. & B. Robinson Be it remembered that the following ^mortgage^ bill of sale Ex.d form was recorded in 17th Jany anno domini 1843 to wit Wm Short This Indenture made this Sixteenth day of January in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty three by and betwene William Short of Dorchester county and state of maryland of the one part and Isaac & Brittingham Robinson of the other part whereas this Indenture witnesseth that the said William Short is owing and stands indebted to the said Isaac & Brittingham Robinson on a bill obligatory dated since taneons birth the date of these presents and payable on the first day of July ensuing the date hereof for one hundred dollars with legal interest thereon until paid and for the better securing the said Isaac & Brittingham Robinson against loss on account of said bill Obligatory the said William Short has agreed to execute these presents Therefore this Indenture further witnesseth that the said William Short for and in consideration of the sum of Five dollars in hand paid them by the said Isaac & Brittingham Robinson before the execution of this Indenture the receipt whereof the said William Short doth hereby acknowledge and himself fully satisfied contented and paid the said William Short has given granted bargained and sold ^and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell^ unto the said Isaac & Brittingham Robinson the following property to wit One negro boy John aged about eighteen years and at pressent hired to William Goslin and also all the estate right; title & claim interest and demand either in law or in equity of the said William Short of in and to the said negro boy John Bargained and sold To have and to hold the said negro boy John unto the said Isaac & Brittingham Robinson their heirs and assigns forever to them and their sole use and uses forever and to and for no other use intent |
