and estate of Oliver P. Hooper party grantee also therein mentioned
his heirs and assigns forever according to the purport, true intent
and meaning of the said instrument of writing and the Acts of
Assembly in such case made and provided

Edward C. Johnson   Be it Remembered that the following Bill of Sale was
          from      Ex.d   recorded on the 26.th day of February Anno Domini
Rachel Pritchett         1847.  To wit
Know all men by these presents that I Rachel Pritchett of Dorchester County and State
of Maryland for and in consideration of the Sum of Four hundred and five Dollars
Current MOney to me in hand paid by Edward C. Johnson of the County and State aforesaid
the receipt whereof I do hereby Acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and delivered
and by these presents do grant bargain sell and deliver unto the said Edward C.
Johnson my negro man Abram a Slave for life which said Slave Abram I will
warrant and forever defend to the said Edward C. Johnson his executors Administrators
and Assigns against me my Executors and Administrators against every other
person or persons whomsoever  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
Affixed my Seal this the 22.d day of February 1847

Maryland Dorchester County to wit On this 22.d day of February 1847.  Before the
Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for Dorchester
County appears Rachel Pritchett and Acknowledged the above Bill of Sale to be her
Act and deed and delivered for the purposes therein mentioned agreeable to the Acts
of Assembly in such case made and provided.  Acknowledged before and Certified by
                                                                                     James Cooper   J. P.


Charles Johnson   Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was
          from   x.d   recorded on the first day of March 1847 to wit
Levin Lewis         Know all men by these presents that I Levin Lewis of
Dorchester County and State of Maryland for the consideration of the sum of
Thirty three Dollars and eighty Cents Current Money to me in hand paid by Charles
Johnson of the County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby Acknowledge
I have granted bargained sold and delivered and by these presents do grant
bargain and sell and deliver unto the said Charles Johnson one black Horse,
two yoke oxen, and one Cart, one Cow, Six head of hogs, two Beds, bedsteads
and furniture which said things will warrant and defend to the said
Charles Johnson his executors administrators and assigns against me my
executors and administrators and against every other person or persons whomsoever
