416 In Testimony or Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 13.th day of February 1847 his In the presence of Les Horatio Hughes Levin + Lewis (Seal) mark of Elias Maryland Dorchester County to wit On this 13.th day of February 1847 before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County appears Levin Lewis and Acknowledges the foregoing writing to be his act and deed According to the true intent and meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided Before Horatio Hughes J. P. Sarah Kirwan Be it Remembered that the following Bill of Sale was from x.d recorded on the 4.th day of March 1847 to wit Rachel Pritchett Know all men by these presents that I Rachel Pritchett of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the good will love and natural affection which I do owe and bare unto my daughter Sarah Kirwan and the Sum of one Dollar Current Money to me in hand paid by my said Daughter Sarah Kirwan of the County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby Acknowledge have granted bargained and Sold and delivered and by these presents do grant bargain Sell and deliver unto the said Sarah Kirwan my negro man slave William which said Slave William I will warrant and defend to the said Sarah Kirwan her Executors Administrators and Assigns against me my executors and Administrators and against every other person or persons whomsoever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed my Seal this the 22.d day of February 1847 his In presence of Edward C. Johnson Rachel + Pritchett (Seal) mark Maryland Dorchester County To wit On this the 22.d day of February 1847 before the Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace of the State aforesaid in and for Dorchester County appears Rachel Pritchett and Acknowledges the above bill of Sale to be his act and deed and delivered for the purposes therein mentioned agreeable to the Acts of Assembly in such case made and provided. Acknowledged before and Certified by James Cooper J. P. James A. Stewart Be it Remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded from x.d on the 4.th day of March 1847. To wit James Geoghegan Know all men by these presents that I James Geoghegan of Dorchester County for and in consideration of the Sum of one hundred and Sixty Dollars to me in hand paid by James A Stewart of said County the receipt whereof I do hereby Acknowledge I have granted bargained and Sold to the said James A Stewart my negro Slaves to wit Girl Mary aged about eleven years and negro boy Joseph aged about nine years both Slaves for life To have and to Hold the said negro Slaves to the said James A Stewart and his heirs exors Admors or assigns.
