412. County and in the said state at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said John E. Phillips do hereby Acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Zadock H. Rosse, his Executors, administrators & assigns the following named goods, to wit: one gray Horse called Charley, one Brown Horse Rat, one Yoke of Steers, one Ox Cart, one Cow, 15 barrels of Corn, all the Fodder, two Beds, six chairs, and all the rest of the House hold & kitchen furniture To have and to hold all and singular the said property & goods above bargained & sold to the said Zadock H. Rosse, his Executors, administrators and assigns forever. And I the said John E. Phillips for myself, heirs, Executors and Administrators all and singular the said goods and property and other the premises unto the said Zadock H. Rosse his Executors, administrators & assigns against me the said John E. Phillips my Executors and Administrators and against all and every other person whatever will warrant and forever defend by these presents of all and singular which said goods and property I have put the said Zadock H. Rosse in full possession by delivering to him the said Zadock H. Rosse the Gray Horse Charley at the sealing and delivery of these presents in the name of the whole premises hereby bargained & sold or mentioned or intended to be so unto him the said Zadock H. Rosse as aforesaid. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal this 28.th day of January 1847. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence John E. Phillips (Seal) of John B. Leckie State of Maryland Dorchester County, To wit: Be it remembered that on the 28.th day of January A. D. 1847 personally appears John E Phillips party mentioned in the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber as Justice of the Peace for the County and state aforesaid and acknowledges the said instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the goods and Chattels therein mentioned and thereby bargained and sold to be the right and estate of the said Zadock H. Rosse also therein mentioned his heirs and Assigns forever according to the purport true intent & meaning of the said instrument of writing and the Acts of Assembly in such case made & provided Taken and Certified John B. Leckie Oliver P. Hooper Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale Ex.d from was recorded on the 15.th day of February 1847, To wit: Elisha Phillips Know all men by these presents that I Elisha Phillips of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of sixty dollars current money to me in hand paid Deld Jn.o Calais 21 Jan 1847 |
