406. Maryland Dorchester County, To wit: On this 29.th day of December Eighteen hundred and forty six before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County appears Joseph Bryan free Coloured man and Acknowledged the within foregoing writing to be his Act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly in such case made and provide Thomas Barnett Thomas Barnett Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale Ex.d from was recorded on the 1.st day of January 1846, To wit: Michael Mitchell Know all men by these presents that I Michael Mitchell of Dorchester County and state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars current money to me in hand paid by Thomas Barnett of the County & State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby Acknowledge have granted bargained & sold and delivered unto the said Thomas Bennett one negro slave called Mary Kennard aged Eight years & one month to serve till she is thirty years of Age which said Negro Mary I will warrant and defend to the said Thomas Bennett his heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns till she shall be thirty years of Age against me my heirs Executors and Administrators and against every person or persons whomsoever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal this twenty third day of December Ano Domino one thousand Eight hundred and forty six. Signed, sealed & delivered in the Michael Mitchell (Seal) presence of Robert Bell J. P. Deld H Hubberd 24 May 1847 Henry Maguire Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was Ex.d from recorded on the 2.d day of January 1846, To wit: Uriah Todd (Stamp) Know all men by these presents that I Uriah (one Dol.) Todd of Dorchester County for and in consideration of the sum of Twelve hundred and Eighty three dollars and fifty cents to me in hand paid by Henry Maguire of said County have bargained transfered and sold to said Maguire the Vessel or Schooner now in the stocks of my landing at Tobacco stick and nearly completed and |
