405. heirs, Executors and Administrators that she will warrant and defend the above named Negroes to the said Robert Spedden, his heirs and Assigns forever as slaves for life against herself and her heirs and against all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal this 31.st day of December Anno Domini 1846. Signed, sealed & delivered in the Delia Byns (Seal) presence of Robert Bell J. P. Maryland Dorchester County, To wit: On the 31.st day of December Anno Domini 1846 the above named Delia Byns appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid and acknowledged the above Bill of Sale to be her Act and deed and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein mentioned according to the Acts of Assembly in such case made & provided Acknowledged before Robert Bell J. P. Harrison D. Barnett Be it remembered that the following Bill of sale Paid Ex.d from was recorded on the 1.st day of January 1847, To wit: Joseph Bryan, Negro Know all men by these presents that I Joseph Bryan free coloured man of Dorchester County & State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty three dollars current money to me in hand paid by Harrison D. Barnett of the County and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained & sold and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto the said Harrison D. Barnett his Executors, Administrators and Assigns one black Sow, & six pigs, one blew stye Hog, about two hundred lbs of salted Pork, lot of Cabbage, about one & a half Barrel of Corn, one p.r Iron Wedges, one old Ax, two iron pots, one Tea Kettle, one Spider, one frying pan, two old chests & two old Tables, and all the balance of the Household Furniture all of which property is now in my possession To have and to hold the said described property above bargained & sold to the said Harrison D. Barnett, his Executors, Administrators & Assigns forever to his and their only proper use and benefit. And I the said Joseph Bryan for myself, Executors and Administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents to the said Harrison D. Barnett, his Executors, Administrators & Assigns the said described property against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof.
