40 Thomas Nicols Be it remembered that the following bill Fee paid from x.d of sale was recorded on 17 ^Jany anno domini^ 1843 to wit 17 Jany John Moore This indenture made this Fifteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three betwene John Moor of Dorchester County in the state of maryland of the one prat and Thomas Nicols of the county and state aforesaid of the other part whereas the said John Moor owes and stands Justly indebted to the said Thomas Nicols in the sum of Fifty dollars current money and to secure the payment thereof is willing to execute these presents Now this indenture witnesseth that the said John Moor for and in consideration of the premises and of the sum of five dollars current money to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Nicols at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Thomas Nicols his executors administrators and assigns all and singular the goods furniture and house hold stuff hereinafter particularly mentioned and expressed that is to say one Horse one yoke of oxen one Cart 2 Heiffers one cupboard one pr Brass andirons Tongs and shovel one bed six chairs one bridle saddle martingills one scyth and Cradle two Ploughs and one Harrow To have and to hold all and singular the said goods furniture and household stuff unto the said Thomas Nicoles his executors administrators and assigns to his and their own use and behoof provided always and it is declared to be the true intent and meaning of these presents that if the said John Moor do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Thomas Nicholes his executors administrators and assigns the full sum of Fifty five dollars current money with legal interest for the same on or before the Fifteenth day of July in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty four? then in such case these presents and any matter and thing herein contained shall cease determine and be utterly void to all intents and purposes any thing herein contained to the contrary notwithstanding and the said John Moor for himself his heirs executors administrators and for every of them doth covenant promises and agree to and with the said Thomas Nicols his heirs executors & administrators or assigns well and truly to pay or cause to be lived Thomas Nicols 8 March 1843 |
