396. And I the said Sam Todd for myself, my heirs, executors & administrators the aforesaid Steers, Cow, plough, Cart & Hogs to the said L. W. Stewart, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns against me the said Sam Todd my Executors, Administrators and against all and every person & persons whomsoever shall & will warrant and forever defend by these presents Provided Nevertheless that in case I the said Sam Todd shall pay and satisfy to the said L W Stewart or to his Executors, administrators or assigns the sum of one hundred & thirty five dollars current money with interest for the same on or before the 1.st day of January Eighteen hundred and forty nine then this bill of sale & every matter and thing therein contained shall be void & of none effect it being the true intent and meaning thereof that the said property is Mortgaged by me the said Sam Todd to secure to the said L. W. Stewart the payment of the money aforesaid In Witness whereof I the said Sam Todd have hereunto set my hand and seal the 12.th day Dec.r 1846 his Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of Sam x Todd (seal) Levin Craig mark State of Maryland Dorchester County To wit: On this 12.th day of December 1846 before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County appears Sam Todd and acknowledges the foregoing instrument of writing to be his Act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided. Witness my hand Levin Craig (Seal) Asbury Dean Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale Ex.d from was recorded on the 23.d day of December 1846, To wit: William Dean Know all men by these presents that I William Dean of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy five dollars current money to me in hand paid by Asbury Dean of the County & State aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto the said Asbury Dean, his Executors, Administrators & Assigns Two Beds and furniture, six flag Chairs, one pine Table, one pine Chest, one Cupboard and Contents, three Iron pots, one oven four pieces of wood ware, one old Cart, one Plow, one Harrow, one pair And Irons, two pot trammels, ten Barrels of Corn, three hundred weight of Pork, three stacks of Fodder & one Cow & Calf all which property Deld W Allen 3d March 1847 |
