392. State of Maryland Dorchester County, To wit: Be it remembered that on this Eighteenth day of November in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred & forty six personally appeared the within and before named Isaac H. Andrew before the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County and state and acknowledged the within and aforegoing mortgage or instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the property therein named to be the right and estate of the aforesaid John S. Staplefort his heirs and assigns forever according to the true intent and meaning of the said Mortgage or instrument of writing and the Acts of Assembly in such cases made and provided. Acknowledged before and Certified by James Cooper John R. Shenton James A. Stewart Be it remembered that the following Mortgage Ex.d from Bill of sale was recorded on the 23.d day of November Charles Corkran 1846. To wit: This Indenture made this twenty third day of November in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred & forty six between Charles Corkran of Dorchester County of the one part and James A. Stewart of the County and state aforesaid of the other part. Whereas the said Charles Corkran owes and stands justly indebted to the said James A. Stewart in the sum of one hundred and thirty dollars current money and to secure the payment thereof is willing to execute these presents. Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Charles Corkran for and in consideration of the premises and of the sum of five dollars current money to him in hand paid by the said James A. Stewart at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said James A. Stewart, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns all and singular the Goods, furniture and House hold stuff hereinafter particularly mentioned and hereinafter mentioned and expressed that is to say one Mahogany side Board, three Mahogany Tables, one Cherry Table, four Beds, Bedsteads & furniture, Eighteen Stool Chairs three Looking Glass, all the Glass & Crockery wares, two Stoves, four Iron Pots, Ovens, Spider, frying pan & kitchen furniture, three pine Table, one dozen Silver Spoons, half dozen Desert ditto, one Rocking Chair & Settee &C all the Carpeting. To have and to hold all and singurly the said goods and house hold stuff unto the said James A. Stewart his Executors, Administrators and Assigns to his and their own use and behoof.
