in my possession   To have and to hold all teh said property to the
said James A. Stewart & Levin Mowbray and their heirs, Ex.rs Adm.rs &
assigns forever   And Whereas the said Levin Mowbray stands indebted
to James A. Stewart together with said W.m P. Penington in the
sum of seven hundred dollars upon obligation dated 4.th August
1846 and payable on or before the 1.st of Jany next   And whereas the
said Levin Mowbray upon the said obligation is merely the security
of the said Penington and this transfer is designed to secure the
payment of teh said sum of Money to teh said James A. Stewart
and to indemnify the said Levin Mowbray as security  Now therefore
it is understood and agreed that if the said W.m P. Penington
his heirs, Adm.rs or Ex.rs do and shall well adn truly pay the said
sum of money with the interest thereon to the said James A. Stewart
according to the tenor of the said obligation then this instrument to
be null and void otherwise of full force and virtue in law.

State of Maryland Dorchester County, To wit:  On this
6.th day of August 1846 personally appears before me the
subscriber a Justice of the Peace for said state & County
W.m P. Penington party grantor in the foregoing instrument
and acknowledged the same to be his Act and deed for the
purposes tehrein mentioned.      Acknowledged before

James L. Geoghegan      Be it remembered that the following Bill
Ex.d      from                  of Sale was recorded on the 15.th August 1846
David G. Bunting            Know all men by these presents that I David
                                      G Bunting of Dorchester County and State
of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred
and seventy five dollars to me in hand paid by the said
James L. Geoghegan before the sealing and delivering of these
presents the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have
granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant,
bargain and sell unto teh said James L. Geoghegan, his heirs,
Executors, Administrators and Assigns, Three Cows and one Calf,
one Yoke of Oxen, one Ox Cart, three plows, one new saddle
and Bridle and all my right and title to teh Corn and
Fodder growing upon the Farm where I live as well all
the Corn and Fodder growing upon the Farm of Samuel
Aaron whose land I till, also fifiteen bushels of wheat
four Hoes, one Ox chain, and one Spade.  To have and
