374. Martin M. Dean Be it remembered that the following Bill of Ex.d from Sale was recorded on the 3.d day of August 1846. Edward Ross Know all men by these presents that I Edward Ross of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Forty dollars to me in hand paid by Martin M. Dean of the County and state aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Edward Ross do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto the said Martin M. Dean, his executors, Administrators and Assigns the following property Viz. one Bay mare, one Bay colt and one Gig & Harness. To have and to hold the said Bay mare, Colt, Gig & Harness above bargained and sold or intended so to be to the said Martin M. Dean, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns forever. And I Edward Ross for myself, my heirs, executors, and Administrators the above Bay mare, Colt, Gig & Harness unto the said Martin M. Dean his Executors, Administrators & Assigns against me the said Edward Ross my Executors & Administrators and against all and every person and persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof I Edward Ross have hereunto set my hand and seal this 1.st day of August 1846 his Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of Edward x Ross (Seal) John B. Leckie mark State of Maryland Dorchester County, To wit: On this 1.st day of August in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred & forty six personally appears Edward Ross party grantor mentioned to the above instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for the County and State aforesaid and acknowledges the said instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the articles therein mentioned and thereby bargained and sold to be the right and estate of Martin M. Dean party Grantee also therein mentioned his heirs and Assigns forever according to the purport, true intent and meaning of the said instrument of writing and the acts of assembly in such cases made and provided Taken and Certified by John B. Leckie N. B. Whenever the sum of Forty dollars shall be paid to the said Martin M. Dean by the said Edward Ross the within property viz one bay Mare, Colt, Gig & Harness shall be again the property of the aforesaid Edward Ross Test John B. Leckie Martin M.
