the interlineations in the above Bill of Sale commencing in the eighteenth
line after the word sale made before the signed and sealing of these presents.
State of Maryland Dorchester County, To wit:  On this 27.th day of May Eighteen
hundred and forty six before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the
Peace in and for the said County and State personally appeared Levin Mowbray
and Algernon Hurley and acknowledged the within Bill of sale or instrument
of writing to be their act and deed according to the true intent
and meaning thereof.                                 W.m W. LeCompte   J. P.


State of Maryland                     Be it remembered that the following Bond
Ex.d   from                               was recorded on the 1.st day of June 1846
Severn S. Dawson & others      Know all men by these presents that
State of Maryland Stamp          we Severn S. Dawson, Daniel Cannon
             one                              and Charles T. Smith of Dorchester County
             Dol.                 
in the State of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the State
of Maryland in the full and just sum of Two thousand dollars current
money of the United States to be paid to the said State or its certain
attorney to the which payment well and truly to be made and done
we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and Administrators jointly and
severally firmly by these presents.  Sealed with our seals and dated
this 1.st day of June 1846.      The Condition of the above
Obligation is such that if the above bounden Severn S. Dawson
shall well and truly execute the Office of Constable of Election District
N.o 2 in all things appertaining thereto and shall also well
and truly account for all moneys placed in his hands for collection
and shall also well and truly pay all sums of money received by him
then the above obligation to be void otherwise of full force & virtue

Dorchester County, To wit:  on the 1.st day of June 1846 personally appeared before
me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid John
Newton and Samuel I. Meekins and made the following Oath to wit we
John Newton and Samuel I Meekins subscribing Witnesses to the above bond
do make Oath that Severn S. Dawson, Daniel cannon & Charles T. Smith
Obligors mention in the said Bond did severally in our presence sign, seal &
deliver the said Bond as their Act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned.
Sworn before me on the day above mentioned.                  James Smith
