me thereunto moving have released from slavery, liberated, manumitted
and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery,
liberate, manumit and set free my Negro Woman named Sina
being of the age of twenty Eight years and able to work and gain
a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said Negro
Woman named Sina I do declare to be hereafter free, manumitted
and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me,
my Executors, or Administrators forever.  In Witness whereof I
hereunto have set my hand & seal this nineteenth day of May
in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty six.

State of Maryland Dorchester County, To wit:  Be it remembered
that on this nineteenth day of May in the year of Our Lord Eighteen
hundred and forty six before me the subscriber a Justice
of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Dorchester County
personally appears Thomas C. Jones of Dorchester County and
acknowledges the within and above instrument of writing to
be his Act and deed and the within and above named Negro
Woman Sima to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from
all manner of service and servitude to him, his heirs, Executors,
Administrators and all other persons forever.  Taken and
Acknowledged before                        Gardner Bayley
                                                             Justice of the Peace


John C. Henry               Be it remembered that the following Deed of
Ex.d      to                     Manumission was recorded May 19 1846.
Negroes Caroline &      whereas I John C. Henry did in the year
Hampton Kennard         Eighteen hundred and seventeen give unto
                                     Nathan Kennard free negro his Infant
daughter Caroline Kennard at that time a slave belonging to me
and whereas the said Caroline Kennard has from that time to
the present been in the possession of the said Nathan Kennard
and he is now desirous that she should be free and that her
freedom may be secured against any possible claim by me or
my representatives in future time, Therefore, To all whom it
may concern be it known that I John C. Henry of Dorchester
County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and
considerations me thereunto moving have released from slavery,
liberated, manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby
