337. of the second part they being known to me to be the parties who are named as and professing to be the parties to foregoing instrument of writing and they do severally acknowledge the same to be their act and deed. In testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day and year aforesaid. Thomas Barnett Henry Bibby Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale Ex.d from was recorded on the 11.th day of March 1846, To wit: Isaac H. Andrews Know all men by these presents that I Isaac H. Andrews of Dorchester County in teh state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred Dollars current money to me in hand paid by Henry Bibby of Dorchester County and State aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Isaac H. Andrews do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained & sold and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto teh said Henry Bibby, his Executors, Adminsitrators and Assigns one Negro man John aged about thirty one years To have and to hold the said Negro Man John above bargained & sold or mentioned & intended so to be to teh said Henry Bibby, his Executors, Administrators & Assigns forever And I teh said Isaac H. Andrews for myself my heirs, Executors and Administrators all and singular the said Negro Man John unto teh said Henry Bibby his Executors, Administrators and Assigns against me the said Isaac H. Andrews, my Executors and Administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of Marh in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred & forty six Isaac H. Andrews (Seal) Maryland Dorchester County, To Wit: on this ninth day of March 1846 before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the County & state aforesaid personally appeared Isaac H. Andrews and acknowledged the within bill of sale to be his act & deed according to the true intent & meaning of the same James Cooper State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond was Ex.d from recorded on the 23.d day of March 1846, To wit: John R. Shenton Know all men by these presents that we John R. Shenton and William A. Sulivane of Dorchester County are held & firmly bound unto teh state of Maryland in the full and just sum of Three thousand dollars current money of the United States to be paid to the said state or its certain |
