334. according to the time of services hereinafter mentioned according to the laws of this state; To wit: 1.st Negro John Mensca aged thirty six years and able to work and given a sufficient living and maintenance and him the said Negro Man John Mensca I declare to be henceforth free, manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me my heirs, executors or administrators for ever. also William Banks aged thirty nine years and able to work and gain a livilehood & maintenance and him the said Negro Man William Banks I do declare to be henceforth free, manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me my heirs, executors or administrators forever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day of in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty six Testis Sol Rutter Robt R Robertson A. C. Thompson (Seal) State of Maryland Dorchester County, To Wit: On this 23.d day of February 1846 before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County personally appeared Anthony C. Thompson and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the Acts of Assembly in such case made and provided. Taken & acknowledged before Robt R. Robertson Thomas M. Flint Be it remembered that the following Bill of Paid Ex.d to Sale & manumission were recorded on the 7.th Jere C. Wright & day of March 1846, To wit: Negro William Stevens Dorchester County, To wit: Know all men by these presents that I Thomas M. Flint of Dorchester County and state of Maryland for divers good causes me thereunto moving and also for the sum of Seventy dollars current money to me in hand paid by Jeremiah C. Wright of Dorchester County the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have given, granted, bargained & sold and by these presents do give, grant, bargain & sell unto him the said Jeremiah C. Wright my Negro Slave William Stevens aged about three years (the son of my negro slave woman Leah) to serve the said Jeremiah C. Wright untill the first day of January Eighteen hundred & fifty eight and then to be forever free. To have and to hold the said Negro slave William Stevens unto him the said Jeremiah C. Wright untill the first day of January Eighteen hundred and fifty eight and then to be forever free, emancipated, liberated & discharged from service to the said Jeremiah C.
