333. said John Edmondson, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns all the right, title and interest of him the said Hooper in and to the personal estate & property of his late Father John Hooper deceased as the same is now in possession his mother Mary S. Hooper consisting in part of two Negro Slaves, Charles about twenty years old and Ellen about thirty years old Household furniture, farming utensils, Stock &c subject to the life estate of his said mother as vested in her by himself and his co-heirs all of which property is now on the Farm of the late John Hooper on Hooper's Island in Dorchester County Maryland. To have and to hold the said title and interest of the said Thomas T. Hooper in and to the said property and Chattels unto the said John Edmondson, his Executors, administrators and assigns forever. Provided however and it is hereby understood & agreed that if the said bill obligatory shall be well & truly paid or satisfied at maturity then these presents shall be void. In Witness whereof the said Thomas T. Hooper hath hereunto set hand & seal the day and year first herein before written Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of Thomas T. Hooper (Seal) Samuel Manning State of Maryland City of Baltimore, To wit: On this first day of February A. D. 1846 before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for the City of Baltimore personally appeared Thomas T. Hooper the party grantor to the foregoing Indenture and acknowledged the same to be his Act and deed Samuel Manning State of Maryland Baltimore County sct. I hereby Certify that Samuel Manning Gentleman before whom the above Acknowledgment was made and who has thereto signed his name was at the time of so doing a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for the City of Baltimore duly Commissioned & sworn In testimony whereof I hereto set my hand and affix the (Seale) Seal of Baltimore County Court this 9.th day of February 1846. Thompson Be it remembered that the following Manumission Ex.d to was recorded on the 26.th February 1846 John Mensca and To all whom it may concern be it known that William Banks, Negroes I, Anthony C. Thompson of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have released from service or slavery liberated, manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery, liberate, manumit and set free the following Negroes |
