Maryland with legal interest thereon for the same on or before the
first day of September eighteen hundred and forty seven without
any deduction or abatement whatsoever then and from thenceforth
these presents and every matter and things contained shall cease and be utterly
null and void any therein to the contrary thereof in any wise notwithstanding
In Witness whereof the said John McGuire hath hereto set
his hand and affixed his seal this 25.th of August 1845.

Dorchester County, To Wit:   On the 25 day of August, Anno Domini
1845 Then Came before the undersigned a Justice of the Peace in and
for said County.  John MaGuire and acknowledged the within Mortgage
Bill of sale to be his Act and deed according to the purport, true
intent and meaning of the same and I Certify I am satisfied that
person making said acknowledgment is the same identical person
named above as the party Mortgagor according to Act of Assembly.

Ann Wright              Be it remembered that the following Bill
Ex.d  from                of Sale was recorded on the 5.th September 1845
Martin L. Wright      Whereas by virtue of An Act of Assembly
                                of the State of Maryland passed at the December
Session one thousand eight hundred and forty two entitled an Act
to regulate conjugal rights as they regard property granting & allowing
married women to hold and own goods, chattels, property and personal
Estate in their own right to the amount of one thousand dollars to
the exclusion of their husbands and all others  Now know ye that
in virtue of the above named Act of Assembly or any other Act, law
or custom, or usage bearing on the subject and also of the sum of one
dollar current money of the United States to Martin L. Wright
party grantor within named by Ann Wright, wife of William W.
Wright both of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland.  I the
said Martin L. Wright of the same County and in the State aforesaid
for the above recited premises and the consideration Money
named and in virtue of the industry and fidelity of the said
Ann Wright in sewing, kitting and other work, rendered, done &
performed I do hereby give, put, place and grant to the sole use,,
control and benefit of the said Ann Wright the following goods,
chattels, effects, personal Estate To wit:  one Blue Bedstead, one
Feather Bed, two muslin sheets, one rug of mixed colours, two linen
pillow cases, two pillows, one Bolster, one Counterpane, one Strawtick
