301. Dunnock, Meekins, Be it remembered that the following Bill Slacum & Smith of Sale was recorded on the 2.d day of June from Ex.d 1845, To wit: Spencer & W.m Clark Know all men by these presents that we Spencer Clark and William T. Clark of Dorchester County for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars to us in hand paid by John R. Dunnock, Samuel I. Meekins, Barzilla Slacum and James Smith of Dorchester County have bargained, sold & transfered to said Dunnock, Meekins, Slacum & Smith all of our right, title, claim, interest and demand in, to and out of a certain vessel called the "Sea Breeze" of Oxford with all her sails, tackling and appertenances and according to the License under the seal of the Collector for the Port of Oxford dated the 25.th Sept 1844 and numbered 113 Toning 15 85/95 tons To have and to hold the said Vessel or Schooner called "Sea Breeze" to the said Dunnock, Meekins, Slacum and Smith and their heirs, ex.rs adm.rs & assigns forever. Whereas the said Dunnock, Meekins, Slacum & Smith are about to enter into a Bond in the penalty of Two hundred dollars to a certain W.m Severe and Joseph Hughes, Libellants in the District Court of the U. States for the Maryland District for the appearance of the said Spencer Clark on the return of the Libel or monition issued against said Clark and the said sureties may be held ammable and have the debt claimed in that case to pay and Costs and which said liability will appear by reference to the Bond executed as aforesaid before Walter Kirby Dept.y Marshal. Now therefore it is hereby provided that if the said Spencer Clark shall well and truly pay the said claim or indemnify the said sureties from all liability by reason of their aforesaid suretieship on or before the 1.st Tuesday in June next then this transfer & Bill of Sale to be and nul and void else of full force and virtue and the said Schooner is hereby delivered over to the said Sureties who are entitled to the immediate possession thereof to hold on the said Boat untill the said debt is paid or to make sale of her if they think proper at once to meet the said claim and the surplus to be paid over to the said party grantors.
