State of Maryland Dorchester County ss.  Be it remembered that on
this seventh day of April in the year one thousand eight hundred and forty
five personally appears before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace
in and for the County and State aforesaid William Robinson and acknowledges
the within and aforegoing Bill of Sale or instrument of writing to be his
Act and deed and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein
mentioned according to the Act of Assembly in such cases made and
provided.  Acknowledged before and certified by     W.m W. LeCompte


James Hutchinson          Be it remembered that the following Bill of
       from      Ex.d          Sale was recorded on the 26.th April 1845, To wit:
M.cCollester & Dean     Know all men by these presents that we Samuel
                                     M.cCollester and Martin M. Dean of Dorchester
County in the State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum
of one hundred and fifty dollars to us in hand paid by James Hutchinson
of the County and state aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of
these presents the receipt whereof we the said Samuel M.cCollester and
Martin M Dean do hereby Acknowledge, have granted, bargained &
sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said
James Hutchinson, his executors, administrators and assigns a certain
Negro Girl slave for life named Harriet Hardcastle supposed to
be thirteen years of age.  To have and to hold the said Negro Girl
named Harriet Hardcastle above bargained and sold or intended so to
be to the said James Hutchinson, his executors, administrators and
Assigns forever.  And we the said Samuel M.cCollester and Martin
M Dean for ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators the said Negro
Girl named Harriet Hardcastle as a slave unto the said James
Hutchinson his Executors administrators and against all and every
person and persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever
defend by these presents.  In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our
hands and seals this twelfth day of April in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and forty five.               his
