Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit:  Be it remembered and it is hereby
certified that on this eighteenth day Feby in the year of Our Lord eighteen
hundred and forty five before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in
and for s.d County who acknowledge the foregoing Bill of Sale or instrument
of writing to be his act and deed and the property therein bargained and
sold to be the right and estate of the s.d Levin W. Tall according to the
Acts of Assembly made and provided                     Richard Tall


W. V. M. Edmondson      Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale
Ex.d   from                       was recorded on the 3.d day of March 1845, To wit:
Samuel M.c Collester        Know all men by these presents that I Samuel M.cCollester
                                         of Dorchester County state of Maryland for and in consideration
of the sum of Two hundred eight dollars and ten cents now due
to W.m V. M. Edmondson of the County and State aforesaid the indebtedness
whereof I the said Samuel M.cCollester do hereby acknowledge have bargained
and sold and by these presents do bargain and sell unto the said
W. V. M. Edmondson his executors administrators and assigns a certain
Negro Woman Slave for life named Henrietta Hardcastle supposed to
be about twenty one years of age   The right to the said Negro Woman
Henrietta Hardcastle I do hereby guarrantee and forever warrant and
defend by these presents  In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and
affixed my seal this twenty fifth day of February in the year of Our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five.      his

Dorchester County State of M.d Sc   Be it remembered that on this twenty fifth
day of February in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
forty five personally appeared Samuel M.c Collester before me a Justice in and
for the County and state afor.d (he being known to me to be the identical
individual refered to) and acknowledges the foregoing Bill of Sale to be
his act and deed and the property therein refered to to be the property of
the said W. V. M. Edmondson.  Taken and Certified the day and year
above written                                                            Nimrod Newton


Zacchariah Linthicum      Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was
Ex.d      from                  recorded on the 7.th day of March 1845, To wit:
Levin W. Tall                  Know all men by these presents that I Levin W. Tall
                                      of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland for and in
consideration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars current money of
Maryland to me in hand paid by Zacchariah Linthicum of the County
and State aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents
the receipt whereof I the said Levin W. Tall do hereby acknowledge
