271. and sold unto the said Levin W. Tall his heirs and assigns the following negroes, To wit: one Negro Woman Mary and one Negro Girl Eliza Jane, one Negro Woman Cassann, one Negro Woman Eliza, one Negro Girl Hester, one Negro Boy Benson, one Negro Boy Pariss, one Negro Boy Alfred James all of which Negroes are more particularly described in a Bill of sale which the said Levin W. Tall gave Richard Tall as per reference to said Bill of sale will now particularly appear To have and to hold the said Negroes above bargained and sold unto the said Levin W. Tall his heirs & assigns In Witness whereof the said Richard Tall hath set his hand & affixed his seal this twentieth day of February in the Year of Our Lord eighteen hundred and forty five. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of Richard Tall (Seal) Samuel Craig Maryland, Dorchester County To wit: Be it remembered and it is hereby that on the twentieth day of February in the year of Our Lord eighteen hundred and forty five before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for said County & state personally appears Richard Tall party grantor to this instrument of writing who acknowledges the aforegoing property to be the right and estate of the within Levin W. Tall according to the true intent & meaning of the same and the Acts of Assembly in such case made & provided. Taken and acknowledged before Samuel Craig Levin W. Tall Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale Ex.d from was recorded on the 3.d day of March 1845, To wit: Samuel Hubbard Know all men by these presents that I Samuel Hubbard of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of twenty eight dollars and eighty five cents current money of Maryland to me in hand paid by Levin W. Tall of the county and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge to have granted bargained sold unto the said Levin W. Tall his heirs and assigns all of the following property Two Beds Bedsteads and furniture, three Tables, one dozen Chairs, one Mantle Clock, one small Beureaux, one Loom and all the balance of House hold furniture. To have and to hold the said property above bargained and sold unto the said Levin W. Tall his heirs and assigns. In Witness whereof I the s.d Samuel Hubbard have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this eighteen day of February in the year of Our Lord eighteen hundred and forty five.
