260. of the sum of one hundred and twenty five dollars in hand paid to me by James A. Stewart have bargained, sold and transfered to the said James A. Stewart and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and transfer to said Stewart and his heirs and assigns all my right & title in the personal estate of the said Lufkin Hurlock or to my distributive share thereof let it be more or less and I do guarantee that my said share will amount to at least the aforesaid sum and in case it should not, I hereby oblige myself my heirs, exe.rs and Adm.rs to make good that sum to said Stewart within eighteen months from this date and the administrators of said Hurlock are hereby authorised and directed to pay over my distribution share of said estate to the said James A. Stewart and his heirs and Assigns. To have and to hold all of my said right to the said James A. Stewart and his heirs and Assigns forever. In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this sixteenth day of January in the year eighteen hundred and forty five Test Charles Corkran Peter Stack (seal) State of Maryland Dorchester County, To wit: On this sixteenth day of January in the year eighteen hundred and forty five personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace for said state and County Peter Stack and acknowledged the foregoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed Charles Corkran John Bradshaw Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale Ex.d from was recorded on the 21.st day of January 1845, To wit: William Harker Know all men by these presents that I William Harker of Baltimore City and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy five dollars lawful Money of the United States in hand paid by John Bradshaw of Dorchester County State of Maryland at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged: Have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said John Bradshaw, his executors, administrators and assigns. A Negro Girl named Matilda Thompson aged twenty one years on the twelfth day of September 1844 and has to serve untill she arrives at the age of thirty five years at which time she is to be free this being same Negro Girl which was by Sarah Orrick of Baltimore County by her last will and testament bequeathed to Elizabeth Johnston during her life time & after the decease of Elizabeth Johnston to descend to and become the property of Sarah Jane Johnston during the residue of her servitude which Last Will & testament bears date the seventh day of August 1837. The term of servitude of the aforesaid Matilda Thompson to expire on the twelfth day of September eighteen hundred and fifty eight at which time she is to be free. See record Balto County Court T. K.
