259 Edward U. Cook Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded Paid from Ex.d on the 16.th day of January 1845, To wit: Denwood Clark Know all men by these presents that I Denwood Clark of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars current money to me in hand paid by Edward U. Cook of Dorchester County in the said State at and before sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Denwood Clark do hereby acknowledge, have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto said Edward U. Cook his executors administrators and assigns all the following property to wit Two Yoke of Steers three Cows two small yearling one Steer eight head of Hogs two Sows and eight pigs and also all my House hold and kitchen furniture All and singular which said goods and chattels are now in possession said Denwood Clark To have and to hold all and singular the said good house hold stuff and furniture and other the premises above bargain and sold or mention and intended so to be to the said Edward U. Cook his executors administrators and assigns forever I the said Denwood Clark for myself my heirs executors & administrators all and singular the said good and chattels and other the premises unto the said Edward U. Cook his executors administrators and assigns against the said Denwood Clark my executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents of all and singular which said goods and chattels and other the premises I the said Denwood Clark have put the said Edward U Cook in full possession by delivering to him the said Edward U. Cook one Cow at the sealing and delivering of these presents in the name of the whole premises hereby bargained and sold or mention and intend to be so unto him the said Edward W Cook as aforesaid. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 9.th day of January 1845. his Test James Mowbray Denwood + Clark (seal) mark The State of Maryland, Dorchester County To wit: On this 9.th day of January 1845 before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for said county and state personally appeared Denwood Clark and acknowledged the within Bill of Sale or instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof.
