or may have grown or shall grow upon the said farm during the current year unto
the said M.rs Hester Handley her heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of
the said M.rs Hester Handley her heirs and assigns forever.  In Witness whereof the said
Francis Webb the party of the first part hath hereunto set his hand and seal on
the day and year first heretofore written

                                              Dorchester County State of Maryland To wit:
On this ninth day of July in the year of Our Lord eighteen hundred and forty four
personally appeared before the Subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the said state in
and for said County the said Francis Webb grantor in the above instrument of
writing being known to me the same person he is professed to be therein and
acknowledged the same to be his act and deed                  Charles Corkran


Thomas Woolford      Be it remembered that the following Manumission
          to   Ex.d           was recorded on the 15.th day of July 1844, To wit:
Sundry Negroes         To all persons whom it doth or may concern Be it known that I
                                  Thomas Woolford of Dorchester County and state of Maryland for
divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving hereby release from
slavery, liberate, manumit and set free my several Negro Slaves hereinafter
named my Negro Woman Lina aged about 37 years to be free on the first day
of January in the year eighteen hundred and forty seven also my Negro Boy Benjamin
aged about twenty one years to serve untill the first day of January
eighteen hundred and forty nine and also my Negro Boy Daniel to serve untill
the year                                 eighteen hundred and fifty three which time
will expire on the first day of January of said year all being able to work &
gain a sufficient support and livelihood and maintenance and to be discharged
from all manner of service or servitude to me my heirs executors or administrators
for ever.  In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this
15.th day of July in the year of Our Lord eighteen hundred and forty four.

                                     Be it remembered that on this 15.th day of July in the
year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty four personally appeared Thomas
Woolford party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a
Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Dorchester County
and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed for the purposes therein
mentioned.            Acknowledged before                        Charles Corkran


Levin Phillips               Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was
     from   Ex.d             recorded on the 22.d day of July 1844 To wit:
