Dorchester County To wit:   On the seventh day of June eighteen hundred
and forty four personally appears before me a Justice of the Peace of
Dorchester County afs.d Margaret M. Chamberlain party to the within
Instrument and acknowledged the same to be her act and deed for
the purposes therein mentioned  she the said Margaret M. Chamberlain
being the same person named as party to the above Instrument

Algernon Thomas            Be it remembered that the following Bill of
       from      Ex.d            Sale was recorded on the 10.th day of June 1844
George Dennis & wife     Know all men by these presents that we George
                                       Dennis and Cassa Dennis of Dorchester County and
state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred
and ninety dollars current money to us in hand paid by Algernon Thomas
of the County and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof
the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge have granted, bargained and
sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Algernon
Thomas his executors, administrators and assigns two grey Horses
named Ball and Travler one pair of white Oxen and one Yoke, two Cows
and calves, one white cow, three Heifers Ears marked with two underbites
one Buffalo ox, one Bull yearling, twelve head of Hogs, two Carts, two
feather Beds and Bedsteads, one mantle Clock, one Cubboard and contents
one dozen Chairs, two Tables, four Chest, one lot of hollow ware or
castings, one lot of wood ware, one lot of Ploughs and Harrows and
gear, one crop of wheat and corn growing no at home, one crop of Corn
now growing on M.r W. V. M. Edmondson's farm &c  all of which property is
now in my possession.  To have and to hold the same described property above
bargained and sold to the said Algernon Thomas his executors
administrators and assigns forever to his and their only proper use
and benefit; And we the said George Dennis and Cassa Dennis for our
selves our executors and administrators shall and will warrant and forever
defend by these presents to the said Algernon Thomas his executors, administrators
and assigns the said described property against us our executors
and administrators and against all and every other person or persons
whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof.  In testimony
whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals the
8.th day of June eighteen hundred and forty four
