In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twentieth day of April in the year of our Lord 1844. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of Joel Cornwell Robert Parker (Seal) Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of one dollar current Money it being the full consideration money within mentioned. Witness Joel Cornwell Robert Parker (Seal) Dorchester County sct. Be it remembered that on this 20.th day of April personally appears Robert Parker party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the state of Maryland for the said County & acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro Man within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of Assembly in such cases made and provided. Acknowledged before Joel Cornwell Joseph R. Eccleston Be it remembered that the following Certificate was Certificate of recorded on the 27.th day of April 1844, To wit: Negroes Ex.d State of Maryland Dorchester County, To wit: I hereby Certify that being seized and possessed of Certain Negro Slaves that is to say John Hall aged about 47 years, Marietta aged about 23 years, Sylva aged about 22 years, Darky aged about 14 years, John aged about 13 years, Mary aged about 11 years, and Ned aged about 3 years, and being desirous to remove and bring the said Negroes from the Territory of Florida within this state for my own use and benefit and not for sale do make out this Certificate of the said Negroes agreeably to the act of assembly in such case made and provided. Witness my hand and seal the 27.th April 1844. Test Charles Corkran Joseph R. Eccleston (Seal) Dorchester County, To wit: On the 27.th day of April 1844 the above named Joseph R. Eccleston appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that he is a Citizen of the State of Maryland and resides in Dorchester County and that the above is a true and faithful list of the said Negro slaves and that he hath not removed the same into this state for the purpose of sale and that they are slaves for life to the best of his knowledge.
