20 administrators & assigns forever with this proviso that if the said John T Venables shall well and truly pay to the said Stewart the said debt; interest & costs on or before the first day of august &c then this obligation to be void else of full force and virtue in law Test Charles Corkran John T Venables (seal) On this 4th of January 1843 appeared before me the subscriber a justice of the peace for said state and county, John T Venables, and acknowledge the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed Charles Corkran Nathaniel Hearn Be it remembered that the following Ex.d from bill of sale was recorded on 6 Jany Thomas Smoot anno domini 1843 to wit Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Smoot of Dorchester county and state of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars current money to me in hand paid by Nathaniel Hearn of Sussex county delaware, at or before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the Thomas Smoot do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Nathaniel Hearn his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns one bay mare, one sorrel horse two yoke of oxen, three cows, one ox cart one timber cart fifty barrels of corn eight stacks of fodder; four beds and furniture two mahogany tables one side board six chairs and one cupboard all of which property are now in my possesion To have and to hold the said bay mare sorrel horse two yoke of oxen three cows one ox cart one timber cart fifty barrels of corn eight stacks of fodder four beds and furniture two mahogany tables one side six chairs and one cupboard to the said Nathaniel Hearn his executors administrators and assigns forever; and I the said Thomas Stewart for myself my heirs executors and administrators the aforesaid bay mare sorrel horse two yoke of oxen, three cows one ox cart one timber cart fifty barrels of corn eight stacks of fodder four beds and furniture two mahogany tables one side board six chairs and one cupboard to the said Nathaniel Hern his executors, administrators and assigns, against me |
