19 thenceforth it may and shall be lawfull to and for the said Stapleford & Crauford their heirs or assigns after having given Ten days notice by public advertisement to enter in the premises of the said John Ratcliff and sell at public sale to the Highest and best bidder or bidders for cash the property therein named or a sufficiency to pay the said claim Interest & costs without any interruption Disturbance claim or demand Whatsoever of from or by the said John Ratcliff or his heirs executors adms or assigns or any other person whatsoever In testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my hand and seal the day and year First herein written Taken & acknowledged John Ratiff (Seal) before James Rea State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit Be it remembered that on this fourth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the county and state afore.sd personally appeared John Ratcliff party to the within Indenture and acknowledged the said Indenture to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning of the same, acknowledged before James Rea James A. Stewart Be it remembered that the following mortgage Ex.d from was recorded on 6 Jany anno domini John T Venables 1843 to wit Know all men by these presents that I John T Venables of Dorchester county set and inacted unto James A Stewart on a Judgement now recorded this day by C Corkran Edy a justice of the peace for the sum of thirty three dollars and fifty four cents with the costs and for the purpose of securing the payment of the said sum of money with interest have agreed to execute these presents Now therefore in consideration of the premises and also of one dollar to me in hand paid by the said Stewart: I have granted bargained & sold & by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said James A. Stewart the following property trust one horse 4 head of cattle 17 head of hogs one cart two ploughs thirty barrells of corn 2000 lbs of tobacco 2 stacks of top fodder 2000 lbs of pork house hold and kitchen furniture and all my personall property of every description To have and to hold the said property to the said Stewart his executors |
