these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Joel Cornwell his
executors, administrators and assigns one Steer, 2 Yearlings, 2 Beds,
2 Bedsteads and furniture, 1 walnut Table, 5 Chairs, 1 Safe & Contents,
1 Chest all of which goods and chattels are now in the possession of Daniel
Walker.  To have and to hold the said described goods and Chattels to the
said Joel Cornwell his executors, administrators and assigns forever  And
him the said William W. Hooper for his heirs, executors and and administrators
the said William W. Hooper unto the said Joel Cornwell his executors,
administrators and assigns against him the said William W. Hooper his
executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons
whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 15.th day
of March eighteen hundred and forty four

                              City of Balt SS.  Be it remembered that on this
fifteenth day of March 1844, before the Subscriber a Justice of the Peace
for said City appears William W. Hooper party grantor and acknowledges
the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed according
to the true intent and meaning thereof.  Acknowledged before

I hereby Certify that William A. Schaffer Gentleman before whom the
foregoing acknowledgment was made and who has thereto signed his
name was at the time of so doing one of the Justices of the Peace of
the state of Maryland in and for the City of Baltimore duly commissioned
and sworn
                      In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand
    (Seale)       and affixed the seal of Baltimore County Court this
                      29.th day of March 1844

Lufkin Hurlock      Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was
     from   Ex.d      recorded on the 4.th day of April 1844, To wit:
James Wheatley    Know all men by these presents that I James Wheatley
                             of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for and in
consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars current money to me in
hand paid by Lufkin Hurlock of the County and state aforesaid at and
before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby
acknowledge have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents
do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Lufkin Hurlock his
