197 Know all men by these presents that we Henry H. Edmondson, William V. M. Edmondson and John C. Davis of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of Two thousand dollars current money of the United States to be paid to the said state or it certain attorney; to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 9.th day of March 1844. The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden Henry H. Edmondson shall well and truly execute the office of Constable of District N.o 2 in all things appertaining thereto and shall also well and truly account for all moneys placed in his hands for Collection and shall also well and truly pay all sums of Money received by him then the above Obligation to be void otherwise of full force and virtue in law signed, sealed and delivered Henry H. Edmondson (L S) in the presence of W. V. M. Edmondson (L S) Tho. H. Hooper Clement C. Waters Jesse C. Davis (L S) Dorchester County, To wit: on the 9.th day of March 1844 personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid Thomas H. Hooper and Clement C. Waters subscribing witnesses to the above bond do make oath that Henry H. Edmondson, W. V. M. Edmondson and Jesse C. Davis obligors mentioned in the said bond did severally in our presence sign, seal and deliver the said bond as their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned. Sworn before me on the day above mentioned Charles Corkran Henry W. Hicks Be it remembered that the following Mortgage Bill from Ex.d of Sale was recorded on the 23.d day of March 1844, To wit: Martin M. Dean This Indenture made this second day of March in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four between Henry W. Hicks of Dorchester County and state of Maryland of the one part and Martin M. Dean owes and stands justly indebted to the said Henry W. Hicks (as security for a certain Samuel M.cCollester to the said Henry W. Hicks) in the sum of seven hundred dollars in a bond or obligation dated the first day of March in the year one thousand eighteen and forty four payable in two years from date within interest thereon from date till paid to secure in part the payment thereof in the want of a failure on the part of the said Samuel M.cCollester and Martin M. Dean to pay the entire sum of the said seven hundred dollars with interest and all costs he the said Martin W. Dean is willing to execute these presents.
