State of Maryland Dorchester County To wit.  On this 27.th day of February 1844 before me
the Subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for said County and State personally appeared
the above named parties and Acknowledged the above bill of Sale or instrument of
Writing to be this Act and deed According to the true intent and meaning thereof

Mary Jane Hubbard               Be it Remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded
Paid by T. L. from      Ex.d    on the 4.th day of March Anno Domini 1844 to wit
Thomas Hubbard                  Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Hubbard Senr
for and in consideration of the Sum of One Dollar to me in hand paid by Mary Jane Hubbard
have granted bargained and Sold and by these presents do grant bargain and Sell unto the
Said Mary Jane Hubbard my negro Girl named Lucresey aged three years the fourteenth
of June Eighteen hundred and forty four and to Serve till She is thirty one and then to be
free  And if the said Mary Jane Hubbard should die without heirs to goay to her brother &
and Sisters"  To Have and to Hold the said Negro Girl Lucresey as above bargained
and sold unto the said Mary Jane Hubbard her heirs executors Administrators and
Assigns against me the said Thomas Hubbard my heirs executors and Administrators and
against all and every other person or persons shall and will warrant and defend
In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 24.th day of
February 1844

Hester Handley      Be it Remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded
       from   Ex.d      on the 6.th day of March Anno Domini 1844.  To wit
Francis Webb         This Indenture made this twenty Eighth day of February Anno
Domini Eighteen hundred and forty four by and between Francis Webb of Dorchester
County maryland of the one part and M.rs Hester Handley widow of the County and
State aforesaid of the other part  Witnesseth Whereas the said Francis Webb in
and by certain obligations noted of hand or writings obligatory under his hand
and Seal bearing date the twenty seventh day of September Anno Domini Eighteen hundred
and forty conditioned for the payment of one thousand Dollars on the twenty second
