192. William B. Dail Be it Remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded from Ex.d on the 17.th day of February Anno Domini 1844 To wit Thomas Wingate Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Wingate of Dorchester County for and in consideration of the Sum of Eighty Dollars Current money to me in hand paid by William B. Dail of the Same County and State of Maryland the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged I have granted, bargained Sold transferred and delivered and by these presents do grant bargain Sell transfer and deliver unto the said William B. Dail his heirs and Assigns forever the following property to wit one Sorrel horse three thousand pounds of blade fodder the top fodder house and fixtures and Sixteen head of hogs To Have and to Hold the said property above described unto the said William B. Dail his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use benefit and behoof and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever against him the said Thomas Wingate and his heirs and against all persons whatsoever In Testimony whereof the said Thomas Wingate has hereunto Subscribed his name and affixed his Seal this Sixteenth day of February in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four Signed Sealed and delivered In the presence of Thomas Wingate (Seal) Charles Corkran Maryland Dorchester County To wit Be it Remembered that on this Sixteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty four personally appears before the Subscriber one of the State of Maryland's Justices of the Peace in and for Dorchester County Thomas Wingate and Acknowledged the within and aforegoing Bill of Sale to be his Act and deed and delivered the Same for the uses and purposes therein mentioned according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly in Such Cases made and provided Taken and Acknowledged before Charles Corkran George Applegarth Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded from Ex.d on the fourth day of March 1844. To wit Thomas Lambdin & others Know all men by these presents that we Thomas Lambdin William Lambdin Ann Brannock James Frazier and Thomas I. Trigoe for and in consideration of the Sum of five Dollars to us in hand paid by George Applegarth have granted bargained and Sold and by these presents do grant bargain and Sell unto the said George Applegarth all of our right and title to a negro Girl named Mary aged about twenty years Slave for life and Sound in body and mind" To Have and to Hold the said negro Girl Mary and also all the personal property mentioned in the bill of Sale from George Applegarth to Ellighy Lamdin as above bargained and Sold unto the said George Applegarth his heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns against us and our heirs executors and Administrators and against all and every person or persons shall and will warrant and defend In Testimony whereof we have hereunto Set our hands and affixed our |
