forever  And we the said John Shenton of Tho.s and Mary Streets for ourselves our heirs
executors and Administrators all and Singular the said Goods and chattels household
Stuff and furniture and other the premises unto the said Marcelleus D Keene
his executors and Administrators and Assigns against we the said John Shenton
of Thos and Mary Streets our executors and Administrators and against all
and every other person or persons of all and singular which said Goods
household Stuff and furniture and other the premises we the said John
Shenton of Thos and Mary Streets have put the said Marcelleus D. Keene
in full possession by delivering to him the said Marcelleus D. Keene
on Clock at the Sealing and delivering of these presents in the Name of the
Whole premises hereby bargained and sold or mentioned and intended
so to be unto him the said Marcelleus D. Keene as aforesaid  In Witness
whereof we have hereunto set our hands and Seals this twenty fourth
day of July in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty three

State of Maryland Dorchester County To wit  Be it remembered and it is hereby
Certified that on this twenty fourth day of July in the year of our Lord Eighteen
hundred and forty three before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace
of the State of Maryland in and for Dorchester County aforesaid personally appeared
John Shenton of Thos and Mary Streets they being known to me to be the
persons to be the parties to be named and described as are professing
to be the parties to the foregoing bill of Sale or indenture and doth acknowledge
the Said Indenture or instrument of writing to be their Act and deed
In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Subscribed my name on the day and
year aforesaid

James A Stewart      Be it Remembered that the following Bill of Sale was
Ex.d         from         recorded on the 10.th day of August 1843.  To wit
William Rea              Know all men by these presents that I William Rea for
and in consideration of the Sum of five hundred Dollars Current Money to me in hand
paid by James A Stewart have granted bargained and Sold and by these presents
do grant bargain and Sell unto the said James A Stewart my negroes named
Harriet aged 32 years and her five children to wit  Delia aged 16 years
Mary Ann 8 years Lucy aged 6 years Caroline aged 2 years and Infant
3 weeks old slaves for life and Sound in body and mind To have and to Hold
the said negroes Harriet and her five children to wit Delia Mary Ann Lucy
Caroline and an infant child about three weeks old as above bargained and sold
