Richard Linthincum      Be it remembered that the following Bill of sale was
Ex.d      from               recorded July 27 1843 to wit         Know all men by these
Otho I Linthicum         presents that I Otho I Linthicum of Dorchester County state
of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one Hundred and fifty Dollars
current money to me in hand paid by Richard Linthicum of the county and state
aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof
I ^the [illegible] Otto I Linthicum^ do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents
do grant bargain and sell unto the said Richard Linthicum his ^Executors^ administrators
and assigns one negro Girl named Leah a slave for Life now of the
age of thirteen years and now in the occupation of the said Otho I Linthicum
To have and to Hold the said negro girl called Leah To the said Richard
Linthicum his executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said
Otho Linthicum for my self my heirs executors and administrators all and
singular the said negro girl Leah unto the said Richard Linthicum his
executors administrators and assigns against me the said Otho I Linthicum
my executors and administrators and against all and every other person
or persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend
by these presents and I the said Otho I Linthicum have put the said Richard
Linthicum in full possesion of said negro Leah by delivering the said negro
Leah To the said Richard Linthicum at the sealing and delivery of these
presents unto him the said Richard Linthicum as aforesaid in witness
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth Day of July one
thousand eight Hundred and forty three

State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit  Be it remembered
that on the fifteenth day of July one thousand eight Hundred and
forty three before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace of
the said State in and for the County aforesaid personally appeared
Otho I Linthicum party to the within Bill of sale or instrument of
writing and acknowledged the said Bill of Sale or instrument of
writing to be his act and deed
