in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty three    The Condition
of the above obligation is such that if the above bound William B Dail (appointed
collector of Dorchester county) shall faithfully collect and pay the sum of three
hundred and sixty seven Dollars and thirty three cents current money of the United
States into the Treasury of the western shore on or before the first day of July in
the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty four to and for the use of the
State then the above obligation to be Void otherwise to be and remain in full
force and virtue in law

State of Maryland      Be it remembered that the following Bond was
Ex.d      from              recorded 31st may 1843 to wit   State of Maryland
William B. Dail           sct  Know all men by these presents that we William
B Dail, John H Hodson Thomas H Hicks John Muir and Henry Bibby
of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland are held and firmly bound
unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of Fifty one thousand
nine hundred & seventy five dollars and sixteen cents current money of the
United States to be paid to the said state or its certain attorney to the which
payment well and truly to be made and done  We bind ourselves and each
of us our and each of our heirs executors and administrators jointly and
severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this Thirty
first day of may in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
forty three.  The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above
bounden William B Dail (appointed collector of Dorchester County) shall
well and faithfully execute the office of Collector of said County and the
several duties required of him by law and shall well and truly
account for and pay to the commissioners for Dorchester County or their
order the several sums of money which he shall receive or be answerable
for by law at such time as the law shall direct and shall well and truly
account for and pay over to the Treasurer of the Western Shore of Maryland
the several sums of money which he shall receive or be answerable for by law
at such time as the law shall direct then this obligation to be void else
to remain in full force and virtue in law
