Six month after date the within Bill of sale is to be satisfied and then the property to be
released & Agreed on in the presents of
Test         Charles Corkran                                                         John Lee


W V M Edmondson       Be it remembered that the following bill of sale was recorded
Ex.d       from    x.d        1st may 1843 to wit                  Know all men by these presents
    Elisha Phillips             that I Elisha Phillips of Dorchester County State of Maryland
for and in consideration of the sum thirty nine dollars and two cents to me in hand
paid by W V M Edmondson of the county and state aforesaid the receipt I the said Elisha
Phillips doth hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these
presents do hereby grant bargain and sell unto the said W V M Edmondson his
Executors administrators and assigns all the property in the annexed schedule
that is to say one Brown Mare one Iron Gray Colt Two calves four axes Three
Ploughes and Gear Two pair cart wheels one Grindstone one Pen Knife Two Beds
and furniture Two bedsteads all of which said property is now on the Farm
at present in the occupancy of the said Elisha Phillips To have and to hold all
and singular the said property above bargained and sold or mentioned
or intended so to be to the said W V M Edmondson his heirs and assigns forever  And
I the said Elisha Phillips for myself my heirs my Executors and administrators
all and singular the said property unto the said W V M Edmondson his heirs and
assigns against me the said Elisha Phillips my Executors and administrators and
against all and every other person and persons whatsoever shall and will
warrant and forever defend by these presents of all and singular which said
property I the said Elisha Phillips have put the said W V M Edmondson in full
possession by delivering to him the said W V M Edmondson one pen knife at the
sealing and delivery of these presents in the name of the whole property and
premises hereby bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be unto
him the said W V M Edmondson as aforesaid.  In Witness whereof I the said
Elisha Phillips have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty
first day of april 1843                                           his

Delivered Sept.r 18 1843 to W.V.M. Edmondson

State of Maryland Dorchester County sc      Be it remembered that on
this twenty first day of april In the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred
and forty three personally appears Elisha Phillips the party granted
within named before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for the
county and state aforesaid he being Known to me to be the identical person
refered thereto and acknowledges the within Bill of sale or instrument of
writing to be his act and deed and the property therein named and hereby
bargained and sold to be the right and estate of the within W V M Edmondson
granted according to the purport true intent and meaning of the Bill of sale
