Ch. 6 1994 LAWS OF MARYLAND AND (1) THIS SUBSECTION APPLIES ONLY TO A MEMBER WHO: (I) HAS RETIRED UNDER SUBSECTION (B)(1) OF THIS SECTION; (II) IS UNDER THE AGE OF 62 YEARS. (2) ON RETIREMENT, A MEMBER SHALL RECEIVE A SUPPLEMENTAL (I) THE MEMBER'S NORMAL SERVICE RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE; AND (II) 1.7% OF THE MEMBER'S AVERAGE FINAL COMPENSATION FOR REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive In subsections (a), (b), and (c) of this section, the word "normal" is added to Defined terms: "Average final compensation" § 20-101 "Retirement allowance" § 20-101 26-402. SURVIVOR BENEFITS. (A) , SCOPE OF SECTION. THIS SECTION APPLIES TO THE SURVIVING SPOUSE OR A CHILD OF A RETIREE (B) BENEFITS TO BE PAID. ON THE DEATH OF A RETIREE, THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES SHALL PAY 50% OF (1) THE SURVIVING SPOUSE; OR (2) IF THERE IS NO SURVIVING SPOUSE OR IF THE SURVIVING SPOUSE (C) CHILDREN'S ALLOWANCE. - 560 -
