Ch. 735                                    1994 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(G) (1) NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW, EACH
CONTAINER OF CRAB MEAT SOLD IN THE STATE CONTAINING CRAB MEAT PICKED
FROM A CRAB, PACKED, REPACKED, OR PROCESSED OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED
STATES SHALL BE MARKED WITH THE WORDS "THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS FOREIGN
CRAB MEAT" IN 1 INCH BOLD LETTERS
. CRAB MEAT FROM (NAME OF COUNTRY OF
ORIGIN)" .

(2) THE MARKING REQUIRED BY PARAGRAPH (1) OF THIS SUBSECTION
SHALL BE PROMINENTLY DISPLAYED IN LETTERS NOT SMALLER THAN 12-POINT
TYPE ON THE PRINCIPAL DISPLAY PANEL OF THE CONTAINER SO AS TO BE EASILY
READ BY THE CONSUMER.

All crab meat sold in this State, whether processed in a crab meat plant in this State
or in a crab meat plant outside this State, shall comply with this subtitle and meet the
standards set by the regulations adopted under this subtitle.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994.

AN ACT concerning

Subcabinet for Children, Youth, and Families - Reorganization Consolidation of Services

FOR the purpose of reorganizing certain programs for children, youth, and families
under the Subcabinet for Children, Youth, and Families; directing the Subcabinet
to encourage the development of certain public/private partnerships; directing the
Departm
ent of Budget and Fiscal Planning and the Subcabinet to phase in a certain
statewide interagency budgeting and funding system; directing the Subcabinet to
phase in a certain statewide system; permitting the use of certain funds; permitting
the Subcabinet to modify or replace a certain system; specifying certain functions
and features of local planning entities
requiring the Subcabinet for Children, Youth,
and Families to phase in a certain budgeting and funding system by a certain date;
requiring the Subcabinet to establish a Subcabinet Fund; providing for the
administration of the Fund; requiring the Subcabinet to establish at least one pilot
project in a certain manner; requiring the Subcabinet to submit certain reports; and
generally relating to the interagency administration of children, youth, and family
services under the Subcabinet.
