(1) May not receive compensation; but
(2) Is entitled to reimbursement for expenses under the Standard State
Travel Regulations, as provided in the State budget.
(k) (1) The term of a member is 4 years, except that the initial term of one of
the consumer members is 3 years.
(2) At the end of a term, a member continues to serve until a successor is
appointed.
(3) If a vacancy occurs as to a member, the Governor shall appoint a new
member to serve only for the rest of the term and until a successor is appointed.
(4) The Governor may remove a member for incompetence or misconduct.
(l) (G) Subject to the hearing provisions of § 14-405 of this title, the Board, on
the affirmative vote of a majority of its full authorized membership, may reprimand or
place [an acupuncturist] A PHYSICIAN WHO PERFORMS ACUPUNCTURE on probation
or suspend or revoke the registration of [an] A PHYSICIAN acupuncturist for:
(1) Any conduct prohibited under the provisions of this section or
prohibited under any regulation adopted pursuant to the provisions of this section;
(2) Except in an emergency life-threatening situation where it is not feasible
or practicable, fails to comply with the Centers for Disease Control's guidelines on
universal precautions; or
(3) Failing to display the notice required under subsection (m) of this
section.
(m) (H) If [an acupuncturist] A PHYSICIAN WHO PERFORMS ACUPUNCTURE
is engaged in the private practice of acupuncture in this State, the [acupuncturist]
PHYSICIAN WHO PERFORMS ACUPUNCTURE shall display the notice developed under §
1-207 of this article conspicuously in each office where the [acupuncturist] PHYSICIAN
is engaged in practice.

8-403.
(I) EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (E) OF THIS SECTION,
ON OR BEFORE JULY 1, 2004, AN EVALUATION SHALL BE MADE OF THE STATE BOARD
OF ACUPUNCTURE AND THE REGULATIONS THAT RELATE TO THE STATE BOARD OF
ACUPUNCTURE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s) 14-302(5) and
(6), respectively, of Article - Health Occupations of the Annotated Code of Maryland be
renumbered to be Section(s) 14-302(4) and (5), respectively.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That:
(a) The terms of the licensed acupuncturist members of the Board shall be as
follows:
