AN ACT concerning

State Personnel - Leave for Volunteer Disaster Service

FOR the purpose of authorizing up to 15 days of leave with pay to a State employee while
the employee provides certain volunteer disaster service with the American Red
Cross: establishing conditions for granting the leave; specifying certain disaster
areas in which volunteer services may be performed by employees on disaster
service leave; limiting the applicability of workers' compensation and tort claims
laws for employees on disaster service leave; clarifying the existing practices for the
continuation of certain employee benefits during work-related accident leave and
other leaves with pay; and generally relating to paid leave for volunteer disaster
service.
