BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,                                                      

Article - State Personnel and Pensions
Section 7-605(c)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section(s) 7-901 through 7-905, respectively, and the subtitle
"Subtitle 9. Family and Seasonal Leave" of Article - State Personnel and Pensions of the
Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s) 7-1001 through 7-1005,
respectively, and the subtitle "Subtitle 10. Family and Seasonal Leave".

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s) 7-1001 through
7-1003, respectively, and the subtitle "Subtitle 10. Other Leaves" of Article - State
Personnel and Pensions of the Annotated Code of Maryland, be renumbered to be
Section(s) 7-1101 through 7-1.103, respectively, and the subtitle "Subtitle 11. Other
Leaves".                                                                

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland
read as follows:

Article - State Personnel and Pensions

7-104. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS WHILE ON LEAVE WITH PAY.                               

WHILE USING LEAVE WITH PAY UNDER THIS TITLE, AN EMPLOYEE:

(1)      DOES NOT LOSE ANY HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFITS WITH THE
SUBSIDY ALLOWED IN TITLE 8, SUBTITLE 1 OF THIS ARTICLE SOLELY BECAUSE OF
USE OF THE PAID LEAVE;                                                   

(2)      CONTINUES SENIORITY AND LEAVE ACCRUALS BASED ON THE
EMPLOYEE'S REGULAR HOURS; AND

(3)      EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN § 7-605 OF THIS TITLE, IS ENTITLED TO PAY
FOR THE LEAVE AT THE EMPLOYEE'S REGULAR HOURLY RATE FOR THE HOURS OF

LEAVE.                                

7-605.

(c) [An employee receiving] NOTWITHSTANDING THE REDUCED RATE THAT
AN EMPLOYEE IS PAID WHILE USING work-related accident leave, THE EMPLOYEE:

(1) [shall continue to accrue leave,] CONTINUES seniority AND. LEAVE
ACCRUALS BASED ON THE EMPLOYEE'S REGULAR PAY[,]; and
