WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor                           Ch. 244

(II)     The BOARD SHALL SPECIFY BOTH THE duties of the inspector
AND THE PART-TIME INSPECTOR [shall be as specified by the Board of License
Commissioners and], WHICH SHALL be for the proper administration and enforcement
of the alcoholic beverage laws in [Wicomico] THE County. For the purposes of the
alcoholic beverages laws, BOTH the inspector AND THE PART-TIME INSPECTOR [shall
have all] HAVE the powers of a peace officer or sheriff of [the] THIS State. [of
Maryland. He]

(III)    BOTH THE INSPECTOR AND THE PART-TIME INSPECTOR shall
make oath faithfully to perform the duties entrusted to [him] THEM, as provided in
Article I, § 9 of the Maryland Constitution.

(IV)    [The] BOTH THE inspector AND PART-TIME INSPECTOR shall
SEPARATELY furnish a bond in the amount of $2,000 to the Board [of License
Commissioners] and [Wicomico] THE County, jointly, conditioned that [he] THE
INSPECTOR AND THE PART-TIME INSPECTOR will well and faithfully execute [his
office] THEIR OFFICES in all things pertaining [thereto] TO THEM. The cost of the
[bond] BONDS shall be paid by [Wicomico] THE County.

[(1-a) The Board of License Commissioners of Wicomico County shall also appoint
a part-time inspector. His salary shall be as provided in the County budget from time to
time. The duties of the part-time inspector shall be as specified by the Board of License
Commissioners and be for the proper administration and enforcement of the alcoholic
beverage laws in Wicomico County. For the purposes of the alcoholic beverage laws, the
part-time inspector shall have all the powers of a peace officer or sheriff of the State of
Maryland. He shall make oath faithfully to perform the duties entrusted to him, as
provided in Article I, § 9 of the Maryland Constitution. The part-time inspector shall
furnish a bond in the amount of $2,000 to the Board of License Commissioners and
Wicomico County, jointly, conditioned that he will well and faithfully execute his office in
all things pertaining thereto. The cost of the bond shall be paid by Wicomico County.]

[(2)] (3) The Board [of License Commissioners of Wicomico County shall
be charged with the coordination of] SHALL COORDINATE THE enforcement of all
alcoholic beverage licensing laws [as pertains to Wicomico] FOR THE County.

[(3)] (4) (I) The Board [of License Commissioners for Wicomico
County] may designate an attorney for the Board. [, at an]

(II) THE annual salary [of $3,500] IS $4,500 [, and that the salary]
WHICH shall be provided in the County budget [from time to time].

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III,
Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may not be construed to extend or
apply to the salary or compensation of the Board of License Commissioners in office on
the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary or
compensation of the Board of License Commissioners shall take effect at the beginning of
the next following terms of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, subject to Section 2 of
this Act, this Act shall take effect July 1, 1994.
