SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages
169.
(a) In Dorchester County, there shall be a Liquor Control Board to consist of
three members, who shall first be appointed by the Governor for terms of two, three, and
four years; thereafter their successors shall be appointed by the Governor for terms of
four years. The Governor may appoint a person to fill a vacancy in the Board for the
unexpired portion of the term. The Board shall designate a chairman and a secretary from
among its members.
(b) Each member of the Board shall receive an annual salary of [$1,500 and the]
$2,500. THE Board shall hold at least two scheduled meetings each month to perform the
duties imposed on them by this subtitle.
The Board may establish and maintain four stores, said stores to be known as the
Dorchester liquor dispensaries, for the sale of all alcoholic beverages except beer, in
sealed packages or containers, which packages or containers shall not be opened nor their
contents consumed upon the premises where sold. The location of any liquor dispensaries
established on or after July 1, 1972 are subject to approval by the County Commissioners
of Dorchester County.
