AN ACT concerning

Maryland Food, Drug, and Cosmetics Act - Crabmeat and Shellfish Plants - Licenses

FOR the purpose of changing the expiration date for a license to operate a crabmeat
plant and a shellfish plant; and generally relating to crabmeat and shellfish plants.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

21-305.

(a)     Except as otherwise provided in this subtitle, a person may not operate a food
establishment unless the person is licensed by the Department.

21-309.

(b)     (1) Except as provided in Title 10, Subtitle 4 of the State Government
Article and in [paragraphs (2), (3), and (4)] PARAGRAPH (2) of this subsection, and
unless it is renewed for another term, a license expires 1 year from the date of issuance or
renewal or as provided by local law, ordinance, or regulation in. accordance with §
21-304(b) and (c) of this subtitle.

[(2) Except as provided in Title 10, Subtitle 4 of the State Government
Article, and unless it is renewed for another term, a license to operate a crab meat plant
expires on April 1 of each year.
